Rockstar Boyfriend

Colorful laser lights swept across the soundstage as a young woman danced across it, her short skirt swayed wildly around her thighs and her bleached bob bounced around her face. She stopped centerstage and the poppy theme music trailed off.

She smiled and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as she waited for her cue. The roar of the audience subsided and the director gave her a thumbs up.

“Hello! Welcome to Music Morning! I’m your personal guide into today’s hot music scene, Toda Kinoko!” She pointed dramatically at the camera and, with an exaggerated wink, announced, “Today we have a very special guest! The fabulous, and can I say sexy, Fuji Syusuke! Let’s give him a Music Morning Welcome!”

“I prefer the Music Morning shut the hell up, myself.” Tezuka muttered sourly into his cup of coffee and the hostess continued to gush.

“That’s not very nice.” A voice purred, soft and seductive, in his ear.

“I don’t do nice at 7:00 in the morning. It’s not like you’re one to talk about nice anyways.” Tezuka replied, looking up from the morning paper and glancing at the television to see a montage of Fuji’s music videos. His favorite one of Fuji dancing shirtless beneath a waterfall flashed by and he sighed in appreciation.

“Hmmm…I seem to be rubbing off on you.” A sensual chuckle tickled his ear, “Oh, gotta go, that’s my cue. See you after the show…Sweetie.”

“Sweetie, my ass.” Tezuka grumbled as he glared at the phone. He laid it on the table and, if he had to suffer through that airhead hostess’ inane prattle, moved to the comfort of the sofa in time to catch Fuji’s smiling entrance. He whistled low as his eyes drank in the sight of his long absent lover.

Fuji’s blue, sleeveless, silk shirt shimmered in the overhead lights, making his blue eyes impossibly bluer. Beneath it, Tezuka could see the black t-shirt with “Rock-N-Roll Forever!” emblazoned across the front. He wore faded, tight jeans that molded to his lower body. Blue Converse sneakers and leather wrist cuffs completed the look. His honey colored hair gleamed with gold highlights and the long, shaggy textured cut was styled to fall playfully over one eye as he moved his head.

Tezuka couldn’t really blame the fans who screamed and cried with excitement as Fuji waved and blew kisses to them. What amused him to no end was the male fans, who seemed to outnumber the females by a slight margin, were carrying on just as much as the females. He had to chalk that up to Fuji’s almost androgynous beauty and overwhelming charisma.

“Fuji-san, thank you very much for coming on our show!” Kinoko chirped as she bounced on her high heeled Mary-Jane’s.

“No, Toda-san, thank you for having me.” Fuji demurred, the liquid silk of his voice making the sentence sound like the naughtiest of innuendos.

“Umm…yes…umm…oh! We need to break for a commercial. We’ll be right back with Fuji Syusuke. Don’t miss it!” Kinoko blushed, giggled and squirmed a little as the picture faded into a commercial.

Tezuka rolled his eyes at the TV, leave it to Fuji to turn idiots into horny, giggling even larger idiots.

Kinoko led Fuji to a couple of stools set up on a raised dais and, as they settled, she crossed her legs and went through her notes as the makeup people rushed forward to reapply what had been sweated off beneath the hot lights.

"Kinoko-san, ready in 5…4…3…2…1…and…”

“Welcome back!” Kinoko smiled as they came back on air, “Toda Kinoko here with special guest Fuji Syusuke!”

The audience went wild and Fuji turned the full force of his smile upon them. After they had been settled again, Kinoko leaned forward and began the interview, You are finally wrapping up your all Asia tour in support of your CD “This Charmed Life”, how does it feel to come to the end?”

Fuji looked thoughtful before he answered, “I don’t believe that I’ve come to the end, but rather full circle. This is, after all, where it began.”

“But you must be relieved?”

“It’s true that I’ve been touring non-stop for a year and it’ll be nice to finally keep my feet on familiar soil for awhile, but I’m more sad that tonight show will be the last than I am relieved.”

“Do you like touring?”

“I love touring, it gives me the chance to meet my fans and visit new places.”

“What are your plans after tonight’s show?”

“I’m taking a brief hiatus, then it’s back to the studio to work on the new CD.”

“Doing anything special during your break?”

“Nothing really big.” Fuji answered as he pushed his hair behind his ear and the stage lights glinted off of a diamond earring, “I just plan on relaxing, working on a few songs and reconnecting with friends and family.”

“Any time in there for romance?” Kinoko’s expression turned coy, “Or is there someone special in your life already?”

“Yes, to both questions.” Fuji laughed, his voice dropping an octave, “I am most definitely making time for romance and there is someone very special in my life right now and that is all I am willing to say on the subject.”

“Oh, come on, Fuji-san. We’ve heard the rumors linking you to the up and coming young actress, Kuburo Shika. Can she be the someone special?”

Fuji’s blue eyes peeked from beneath his lashes and his smile turned sly, “Ah, yes, I’ve heard those rumor, too.”

"Are you confirming them, then?"

shrugged and leveled his fully opened eyes on Kinoko. The hostess nervously licked her lips as she quickly took the hint that it was unwise to continue this line of questioning. She swallowed hard and cleared her throat, “S-so, F-fuji-san, I understand that you’re going to perform for us?”

Fuji nodded and Kinoko, finally regaining her composure, turned to the camera and held up the CD, “After we return from these messages, Fuji Syusuke will perform the latest single from “This Charmed Life”. Don’t miss it!”

Fuji stood and walked backstage while the soundcrew frantically set up the equipment for he and his band. While he was onstage, he had felt the phone in his pocket vibrate and he fished it from the tight jeans. The phone indicated that he had two messages, curious as to who would call him while he was in an interview, he checked them.

Fuji smiled when he heard Tezuka’s dry tones in the first message, “I told you that you have demon eyes. Shame on you for scaring that poor girl out of what little wits she has, and I think you’re special too.”

The second message had Fuji laughing, “ Come home soon…you look damn hot in that outfit.”
