Title: Rockstar Boyfriend
Day/Theme: 8/16/07: “There’ll be no end to the rock and roll”
Series: Prince of Tennis
A/N: AU (No wait! Please don’t runaway!) I chose to take today’s theme kind of literally and this was the result. Please give it a chance and tell me what you think.
Colorful laser lights swept across the soundstage as a young woman danced across it, her short skirt swayed wildly around her thighs and her bleached bob bounced around her face. She stopped centerstage and the poppy theme music trailed off.
She smiled and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear as she waited for her cue. The roar of the audience subsided and the director gave her a thumbs up.
“Hello! Welcome to Music Morning! I’m your personal guide into today’s hot music scene, Toda Kinoko!” She pointed dramatically at the camera and, with an exaggerated wink, announced, “Today we have a very special guest! The fabulous, and can I say sexy, Fuji Syusuke! Let’s give him a Music Morning Welcome!”
“I prefer the Music Morning shut the hell up, myself.” Tezuka muttered sourly into his cup of coffee and the hostess continued to gush.
“That’s not very nice.” A voice purred, soft and seductive, in his ear.
“I don’t do nice at 7:00 in the morning. It’s not like you’re one to talk about nice anyways.” Tezuka replied, looking up from the morning paper and glancing at the television to see a montage of
“Hmmm…I seem to be rubbing off on you.” A sensual chuckle tickled his ear, “Oh, gotta go, that’s my cue. See you after the show…Sweetie.”
“Sweetie, my ass.” Tezuka grumbled as he glared at the phone. He laid it on the table and, if he had to suffer through that airhead hostess’ inane prattle, moved to the comfort of the sofa in time to catch
Tezuka couldn’t really blame the fans who screamed and cried with excitement as
“Fuji-san, thank you very much for coming on our show!” Kinoko chirped as she bounced on her high heeled Mary-Jane’s.
“No, Toda-san, thank you for having me.”
“Umm…yes…umm…oh! We need to break for a commercial. We’ll be right back with Fuji Syusuke. Don’t miss it!” Kinoko blushed, giggled and squirmed a little as the picture faded into a commercial.
Tezuka rolled his eyes at the TV, leave it to
Kinoko led Fuji to a couple of stools set up on a raised dais and, as they settled, she crossed her legs and went through her notes as the makeup people rushed forward to reapply what had been sweated off beneath the hot lights.
"Kinoko-san, ready in 5…4…3…2…1…and…”
“Welcome back!” Kinoko smiled as they came back on air, “Toda Kinoko here with special guest Fuji Syusuke!”
The audience went wild and
“But you must be relieved?”
“It’s true that I’ve been touring non-stop for a year and it’ll be nice to finally keep my feet on familiar soil for awhile, but I’m more sad that tonight show will be the last than I am relieved.”
“Do you like touring?”
“I love touring, it gives me the chance to meet my fans and visit new places.”
“What are your plans after tonight’s show?”
“I’m taking a brief hiatus, then it’s back to the studio to work on the new CD.”
“Doing anything special during your break?”
“Nothing really big.”
“Any time in there for romance?” Kinoko’s expression turned coy, “Or is there someone special in your life already?”
“Yes, to both questions.”
“Oh, come on, Fuji-san. We’ve heard the rumors linking you to the up and coming young actress, Kuburo Shika. Can she be the someone special?”
"Are you confirming them, then?"
Fuji shrugged and leveled his fully opened eyes on Kinoko. The hostess nervously licked her lips as she quickly took the hint that it was unwise to continue this line of questioning. She swallowed hard and cleared her throat, “S-so, F-fuji-san, I understand that you’re going to perform for us?”
The second message had
